Project / Program purpose and objectives |
The SAFHER project was initiated by a governing council who's members consist of the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO), state CIOs, state USA Plants and USA Food Safety subject matter experts, AAFCO and FDA. This was in response to the currently used legacy systems, USA Plants and USA Food Safety, being unable to sufficiently meet the needs of the 20 participating states. SAFHER's objective is to develop a system to empower state's internal users and external customers to address their state government agricultural, public health and human and animal food administrative functions including, but not limited to: licensing, payments, inspections, complaints, compliance, administration, document management and enforcement mission. |
