Goals

Update: We have provided an IT infrastructure that meets the needs of the Agency, We've adapted to the changing needs of the agency to ensure continuous improvement of existing administrative process and business systems.

Objectives

  • Maintain and enhance the IT infrastructure to support the operations of the Agency
    Update: Provide daily quality responsive support and technical solutions to meet the overall goals of the Agency by streamlining information retrieval and reporting. Minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity.
  • Maximize staff potential to foster innovation and excellence.

    Update: Trying to provide more flexibility in work hours, the option to work remotely, and more job responsibilities to enhance their work day.
  • Provide a secure computing environment that ensures data privacy, integrity and mitigates cyber-security threats
    Update: Using real-time information, which involves information in regards to storing, protecting, backing-up, archiving and retrieving data whenever needed.

Update: We are committed to exploring emerging technologies and implementing creative solutions to provide greater value to the Agency and it's employees.

Objectives

  • Work with departments to provide training on enterprise technologies.
    Update: Working on educating Agency employees about information security issues through various training models, email updates and "Do you know" emails.
  • Ensure a strong IT workforce capable of achieving the information technology goals of the Agency
    Update: Provided technical development opportunities for the IT staff, also allow flexibility in scheduling and projects to allow staff time to work on innovative technologies.
  • Enhance communications
    Update: Identified and implemented ways to further strengthen help desk operation.
    Working to enhance office communications to keep the Agency informed of changes within the IT environment.

Update: Geared our efforts towards greater efficiency and control for the bureaus in the Agency. Made some small but dramatic improvements for our Exams, Forms and Legal departments.

Objectives

  • Streamline workflow and automate business processes to improve business efficiency and reduce the use of paper.
    Update: IT has worked with bureaus to make changes to improve and proposed changes to streamline their business processes. We are actively taking steps to make things a little more efficient each day.
  • Establish a review process to annually review each COOP plan with the business process owner for needed updates and changes
    Update: Our COOP plan is a living document. But it is only as good as the information in it. We need to be more cognizant of testing all manual, automated and backup procedures to ensure they are effective.
  • Update and review Living Disaster Recovery Planning System
    Update: Enhance and periodically test the IT disaster recovery plan by doing table top disasters involving the Agencies Bureau Chief's and Executive staff.
    Regular exercises, tests and drills are critically important as a best practice to gauge the level of preparedness.
